dear 2009 and beyond
shades of the Ox Bow Incident-- Henry Fonda 1943 or so the internet claims
... so it must be so
the good news is the tin hat crowd will follow their leaders to the ends of
the earth while the rest wait upon the hill for the next sunrise or
what-ever comes along--
i had a usb drive come adrift from it's hard plastic shell -- due to
forgetting it was there and setting computer on it's side
rather than throw the thing away -- i went to several electronic stores
looking for liquid plastic--
when it told them why i wanted it they nearly laughed me out of the store --
indeed they did --
i ended up at the marine parts store where they have Liquid Tape for dipping
electric connections in to save from salt water
and also to dip your whipped rope ends in to save from unraveling --
15$ and i painted the stuff on my broken no good usb ... saved it and works
fine ... :)
the point of my story is that no one knows everything there is to know about
stuff --
everyone is willing to jump to the conclusion residing at the end of their
knowledge (often a short but fatal leap)
and I know for sure that the next time one of our precious Vanagons gets
whacked and the adjuster offers $$ when he should offer $$$$$$$$$$.00
-- that everyone will say ... show the #$@#$$#@ the last list of sales from
GoWesty so he can see real value of these rare vehicles ---
reminds me of last week at a dinner party where an idealist anarchist was
arguing that there should be no-one left outside of the circles of wealth
and it all should be distributed evenly.
the next day i should up at his place with my vanagon--- the fellow has a
better selection of tools than i do and a good hoist...
the repairs took longer than i thought they would -- i ate with him at lunch
breakfast dinner and supper ... had coffee and snacks with him ...
his fridge is better stocked then my OEM Electolux Wetie fridge ---
then the other night he stops me at the door and says i have to go he cant
have me taking all the time ...
gee and i thought i was giving him a really good education in vanagon repair
-- even though he owns a volvo
oh well ---
thanks for listening ...
glad gowesty accepted the awareness of a wrong done ...
lets tread into 2009 remebering that almost all of the parables of jesus had
to do with business -- agriculture-- or sex hmmm what was he on to
happy new year
yours

There are two kinds of jobs in the world:
Picking up garbage and telling people things.
Successful people do both, with the same good attitude. (riw)
