a slightly scarier way, since it reveals what it really costs in fuel to
cover ground....
is just calculate how many miles you get out of a dollar of fuel, regardless
of what type it is.
when fuel was 4,00 per gallon for regular, my 20 mpg turbo Volvo :
$ 4.00 goes 20 miles......
'miles per dollar' means divide the miles by the dollar amount of fuel.
20 divided by 4 equals 5 miles per dollar.
sounds terrible when you see expressed it that way.
With gas no being half that cost right now, , I'm up to 10 miles per dollar
these days.
my all time ever record is 23 miles per dollar in a 56 VW Bus in the 70's.,
I put 100 dollars in a envelope, and only purchased gas from that
stash........and drove 2,300 miles.
And so lucky we can still do this.
Gas price here in southern Oregon started shooting up all of a sudden, even
10 cents a gallon in one day.
