dear popin joy

pop ups are a nasty for sure ... bothersome at least and a vexation at worst

there are a number of things not mentioned in your post -- what browser do you use-- Explorer is notorious for allowing all sorts of stupidity through --

Firefox has built in pop up blocker (and firefox was recommended by microsoft as the browser to down load and use when explorer was found to be mutating a virus in early december)

You can also switch to Chrome by Google -- i have no experience with that one but i expect it to be very good as it it is google and we all know how they can do only minor wrong things and mostly to the kid in the attic who isnt supposed to matter anyway ( least not statistically) :P:P what ever--- :P

the other place you may not want to go to is this ... who uses your computer... porn sites are full of pop up stuff that is nearly impossible to clear away -- some one may have sought porn on your computer ... even unwittingly as a stumble upon ...(gambling sites too are aweful for pop up stuff) you have to search out the creater of the pop up ... you have to search out where on your computer it is lodged .. like pinned to start up menu then iradicate ... it may also reside in tempoary internet ... and on and on ... so a search for name of the pop up generator ... search for where the generating .dll (or what ever the prefix is ) delete ... if they will not delete change the prefix to .old and then delete ... you will be asked at that time if you want to do this cause it will change your settings etc .. say yes --

of course if you switch to apple computer and use fire fox -- then the only two you should get are the what year did you graduate and you are a winner because you are the 10000000000000 visitor --

in my computing life i use as little microsoft as i can possibly get away with -- i have asked my work place not to invest in a new computer cause we do not want vista... the boss got it in the home machine and have been crying ever since... i have a lawyer in my life and he found vista so bad he has begun the apple conversion ... first at home --

any way you asked about pop ups .... use fire fox or chrome for a browser activate your pop up blocker ...

minimize the amont of microsoft stuff you have running on your computer

things will get better ... pwomise --- yours
