Subject: Occasional use insurance in Canada? Was: Declared Value Insurance?

Does anyone know where I can find a true occasional use policy in Canada?

Currently I have my car and Westy insured. Car is used throughout the year. I just looked through the past five years of logs, and Westy is used from 1-3weeks (ie my vacation and occasional weekend). Yet my insurance company (Wavanesa) charges more or less the same for both. (ok its $100 less, 500 for Westy and 600 for car (Vibe), but thats only a 20% rebate for a 95% reduction in used days. Not fair! But insurance agents I call seem clueless at understanding the difference.

Restrictions like these would be fine with me if it mean I paid for the true risk of the occasional weekend/vacation drive in the countryside instead of being fleeced for more or less the same amount as a daily driver in the city.

Anyone knows who I should contact in Canada for true occasional use insurance? (I tried calling the Westy an RV but they didn't go for that)

Thanks, Martin
