one could say 'checking the fuel filter'..........falls under 'Check the Basics' ...... like it would be pretty silly to chase a running problem for a long time, with many parts tried, when all along, the fuel filter was half clogged.

also.........just a thought........it's rare........but one always needs to consider 'the fuel itself'. I've found water in vanagon fuel before. .......right in the fuel filter.

also........clogged cat or muffler.........always need to consider those too. what fun ! Scott www.turbovans.com
