Subject: Strange clock display
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes

Today, while trying to resolve my O2 sensor issue I saw something rather strange. Ever since I got the Vanagon I noticed the digital clock on the dash seemed to work ONLY when the ignition was off. As I understand it, it should be on at all times. However when I turned on the ignition it would go blank. A couple times while driving I happened to look down and it was on. Hmmmm.

Here's where it gets strange (to me). While sitting in the van revving the engine this morning I noticed the clock was fading in and out. At idle it was off. Give it gas and the display would come on. Let off and it goes blank. How strange. Hit the gas, it displays. Release the gas, it goes out.

What the heck? One note, it is keeping time. It's just the display that fades in and out as you rev and let off the gas.
