In my former career as a brass instrument repairman, I used to find ALL manner of stuff in horns and the cases they lived in. Really. You wouldn't believe it. And you wouldn't believe what people did to them. (never mind damage) Years ago I saw a fine trumpet (older Bach) with F'n Rhinestones studded around the rim of the bell! And this thing was DIRTY. But I digress.......

Hey. Maybe I could run my Westy as a mobile band instrument repair shop! Could you imagine what my Westy interior would look like with a mobile repair shop in it?? Acid bath, lathe, hammers, dent mandrels....... no banana slugs though!

I too keep up on the mechanical aspect more than the aesthetic side. I mean I *still* haven't gotten around to cleaning the pop top exterior. (I know. Shame on me!) I don't keep a lot of crap in there save for spare parts, tools and camping stuff. But. I too see it as a useful vehicle. Like most, I've brought home engines, trannys, LOTS-o-spare parts, and other greezy items. I even brought home a new fridge! (*just* fit through hatch) Sure put a tarp down. But hey; stuff happens. A little oil stain here, dirt there. So what. My Westy c/w a piece of plastic hallway runner that I keep on the entrance half of the carpet. The rest is covered with a washable carpet I picked up from Crappy Tire. Heck. It almost matches the "decor"! <grin>
