Oh, geez. Look at the name they are going to give it, and you thought Routan was bad: http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080225.015/vw-up-to-be-named-lupo-in-2011 .

Good article. I can imagine the boardroom meeting where this car was designed.

Fritz: "Dieter, you were supposed to work all weekend designing our new car though it looks like you were at the bar all weekend." Dieter: -Glancing out the window, unshaven- "Ya Ya, I have the design." Fritz: "Well can you describe it?" Dieter: "Um, yeah its got this rear engine see, and it has um, yeah, this really curved body, and it um, seats four, and gets good gas mileage, and is inexpensive. Yeah that's it". Fritz: "Brilliant! Nobody ever thought of that before! Lets convert the Phaeton plant over to building these. Get me a copy of that Ben Pon napkin; I wonder if there are any other vehicles we can build here at VW?"
