A 378' US Coast Guard Cutter uses 300 Gal/Hr of JP5 fuel on its diesels at
18 knots..
1000 Gal/hr on its Pratt Whitney turbines at most speeds..(4 to 35knots)
with 125 crew..
JP5 is a higher refined version of diesel, so maybe $2 /gal in 20,000 gal
bulk purchases..spent way too much time underway in my youth...
One of you mathmetical whizards figure that one out...
