Yep, not too terribly easy to find I suppose.
FWIW, this is what the digi AFM looks like on the square side, and what the
adapter looks like, which makes the pretty round interface needed for
conical filters:

"Find an XR4 in the junkyard and pillage said part."
No small task considering the lack of popularity of said car and the fact
that it was only sold in the U.S. for five years in the late '80s. Rarer
than a Vanagon, though if you can find its equally rare big brother the
Scorpio those alloy wheels will fit the Vanagon.

The Merkur XR4Ti (funky German Ford) uses the same basic air meter as
Digifant.
The difference is the Merkur unit has a round outlet adapter that bolts to
the square bolt pattern.
Find an XR4 in the junkyard and pillage said part.
I may have a spare if you can't find one.

As the subject says... I have 2.0 inline-4 VW conversion in my Doka. The AFM
has been giving me problems for various reasons. I suspect
one problem is the Digifant AFM was plastic welded onto a stock Golf airbox.
The welding job was not exactly the greatest. This is the way
it came in the used conversion package.
I have seen K&N cone filters on other Vanagons with Digifant but can't
recall who makes them. These should be the same ones used on
Golfs and Jettas. I have seen the ones on Ebay but those are for the later
model AFM's. The one I need adapts the square intake of the
Vanagon AFM to a round tube on a K&N or similar system. The common Ebay
variety goes from round tube to round tube.
Looking for leads either new or used.
TIA,
