I look forward to cooperating with the new moderators.  David and
Ben, please do let us know any new guidelines you would like us to
follow.  Jim put forward a set and I was apparently one of few who
responded to them.  I think it is important to follow the rules once
they are set out.  I don't know what happened when Jim tried this,
which made him so frustrated that he gave up quickly.  Seems
easy:  1. Admin says "kill this thread"  2.  Any subscribers who
reply to the thread go on moderation.  Moderation is not the end of
the world but when a subscriber finds they can't post directly to the
list once or twice, they will probably get the idea about what is
appropriate.  Maybe the list interface makes it tedious to put
someone on moderation or take them off?  The few lists I administer
make that pretty easy.
