Well, I guess I am the only skeptic on the list. After studying the photos, I Googled "polar bear attack photos". Or just go to Urban Legends or Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/photos/gruesome/polarbear.asp) Bottom line is it did happen. The photos have been circulating since 2006. There are more photos, but the questionable one is the hole in the ankle, which appears to be different, probably a gunshot wound. It was a native guide with three Americans hunting caribou. The bear apparently took a swipe at the tent with the 3 hunters and then went for the guides tent. Then there are questions about who shot the bear, the guide or the hunters. Seems to have been one of the hunters. The guide was taken by boat and then plane. Took 300 stitches in his scalp. Anyway, that guide was one tough dude and the photos awesome.
