That old milk house heater? It's huge and noisy. That duel element HOLMES "ceramic" heater? They won't put out enough heat. And almost all ceramic heaters you see have small ceramic elements with aluminum baffles that conduct the heat--so it is really like the old milk house heater. I have both of them. And they are not required to shut off if tipped. I know the holmes doesn't. Get a real ceramic heater; Pelonis Ceramic disc heater. Has a special thermostat so it runs steady and you can adjust the speed. I have the older model that is 6"x6"! Very small but puts out all the heat you can stand, or turn it down to what you need. It does shut off if tipped. I've had a few heaters like this and the Pelonis is by far the best for use in a Vanagon. The price is about $50 delivered. Ebay--big box stores do not sell them.
