That's why it's shiny and clean. They then said they discovered the crack. At that point I had no way to find out if it was my cylinder head any more. I did take that one back. They did not charge me anything. It made me suspect more that they took my good valuable head and gave me back a crap. I could not fight back in any way. I could not prove anything. Well, it's been a while. And I am now much more experienced. I don't think any machine shop could take me to the cleaner again. The point I wanted to make was that I agree with Ken that whatever core you have is likely worthless to every machine shop. If you mechanic sends them in for you then it's a different story. They will likely do a decent rebuid on them for your mechanic. David |
