I see. Hi Jeff. It seems then that perhaps someone removed the black plastic fuel line that goes from the aft end of the fuel pump ( well, joined to the FP by a few inches of hose ) from your van.

so far, I've never seen one thing wrong with that plastic original fuel line..........and I think the less 'rubber like' fuel hose in the system the better. I suppose I'd leave my own van , if it was like yours is now, alone. well maybe, if I had to work on it for any reason..........I'd get stock plastic line out of a parts van and put it in......I like that stuff. Seems to last absolutely indefinitely .

And this could also be an example of how I don't think 'Replacing' per se, is always the very best thing to do. You loose ground, compared to the very high quality original parts, in some cases.

What I recommend is keep high quality good original parts in service. I think we are seeing a decline in the quality of replacement parts in general. So when I see 'all new' .........I get nervous, rather than reassured that it's necessarily now 'better' .....often it is not. Also.........aftermarket parts where the main focus is on 'low price' ..........no thank you ! I go for two things.....Quality of the parts, and Service........how realizable and with how much integrity the vendor deals with things. Get me a sharp parts person............and quality parts.......and I don't mind at all if they are a little more expensive.

and I do not at all automatically believe that 'all new parts' in any system are necessarily better. sometimes the quality is less, as I said........but also workmanship ............the more parts that are changed.........the more chances someone did a lousy job doing it. Hopefully that isn't the case........but oh................. what I have seen ! Make your hair stand on end.........like say, twisted brake hoses where a rebuilt caliper was installed. Frightening.
