Karl Von Salzen <aufever@hotmail.com>, a Vanagon listmember from way before the list split, (now on the T2 list) has been experiencing a health problem. Thought that the gray beards of this list ought to know.

Samba thread here: <http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=337647&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 >.

Synopsis from a p-mail I received last night:

"13 days in the hospital, of which the first 9 were in ICU. Day 4 overnight was the turning point. I was DNR and not expected to survive. My platelet count had crashed to 13. Holding steady now at 20. Normal is 150,000! And my body rejected both transplants. It is on its own to produce them. My 6 year fight of a non curable bone marrow disease, Polycythemia Vera, has now morphed into full blown leukemia.

"I cannot walk or lift anything yet. The muscles are gone. I cannot risk any bruising or will get internal bleed out or DVT [deep vein thrombosis]."

Please keep him in your thoughts.

Jim
