Aside from the 3 minute "rule", I think one has to own at least 2 spare speedos too. <grin>

I found the link Mike Collum posted really useful.

On my first odometer fixing spree, I snapped the speedo needle. Crazy glue fixed it. It's fragile.

It works now but reads 18 km/hr too fast. Possibly due to:

"snap" spinning the shaft the speedo cable attaches to. ("Hey lookee here. Them gears spin reel good!") I'd suggest spinning it gently if at all.

And possibly....

Installed speedo needle slightly "advanced". It "rested" fine though. Far fetched, but maybe possible?
