Here's a pic of 4 heaters of various sizes.

http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm34/populuxe59/Vanagon%20MV/104_0598.jpg   The one on the left is a "Titan" pseudo ceramic sold under other names as well. It's decent, small and $20. Next is the "twin" Holmes pseudo ceramic. Mine just doesn't have the power to heat unless its right next to you. I remember it heating better--Maybe it needs to be cleaned out?  It was the first one I used when I got our Vanagon. The Pelonis Ceramic Disc heater is small, and quiet.  The heat is variable with a dial. The old Milk House heater is a pig. You can tip it upward and warm cold pizza on its grill though.   The Pelonis is the only Ceramic that takes advantage of the material in it's variable heat out-put. As things warm up, the heat out-put will go down--not just off.  Also has tipping shut-off. The other pseudo ceramics don't.  Someone told me HomeDepot sells them(?).   If you want super small and quiet, get a ceramic cube type. They are quiet and I like them. I actually have yet another-- with remote!  It osculates, ceramic, timer and led's, but it's much larger and not included; I wouldn't take it with me on a trip.   Chris C 90 Mv (Wisconsin)
