Our idea is that the sight of a lock will make them think it's not easy enough for a quick entry and getaway, and will act as a deterrent. Sort of like putting a 'club' on a steering wheel. I can tell you how to get beyond the 'club' ... but that's because I are a injunear. Yer ordinary street thief won't know how to do it. A dedicated thief will ... and will also get around any lock you might put on there. This is also based on our observation that there are vastly more ordinary street thieves than dedicated thieves.
