I think that the sight of a locked storage area will tip off potential
banditos that there might be good stuff in the secured area. There
must be a way to lock the bench seat like Gregor did, w/o having an
exposed lock visible from the outside?? A wrecking bar, etc. will be
able to pry the bench seat open w/ a lock in any event, so why
advertise that there is something valuable in there? The bench area
is ideal as it is big enough to hide laptops, suitcases full of cash,
etc. unlike areas such as under the front seats, secret area next to
the water tank, etc.
I'll think about a hardware solution for the bench seat.
