Two years ago, I bought a new extinguisher, a Halotron, 2.5LB, from a company in San Diego. It was not cheap, but I figured it was time to replace the now 18 year-old OEM, and I didn't want dry power. I have it mounted vertically behind the driver's seat. This location may not work for everyone, if you have the seat all the way back or tilted back, it will hit the extinguisher. Now, I am wondering how many have actually used the OEM unit, either for a fire or just to test to see if it still worked? There are newer, less expensive alternatives to the dry chemical, out in the last two years.
