The guy to talk to is Kyle at http://www.kyleautomotivespecialties.com/ He is now making BRAND NEW wiring harnesses for aircooled vanagons, 1.9 vanagons, and i believe he's working on 2.1 harnesses as well. He's got a great reputation and i see this as one part that is not replaced enough. I can't begin to imagine how even the best quality used harness can still be as good as a new one. 20 years of heating and cooling is not possibly good. I am thinking of getting one for my '85 just because it seems like a very logical part to replace and i imagine the engine will run infinately better (Proper resistance and voltage values). If you're sick of the brittle harness you have, with the many torn boots, new could be good! -Craig '85GL turned WESTY On Sun, Feb 1, 2009 at 11:34 PM, dahn van laarz <bootlvr@hotmail.com> wrote: > I see a lot of discussion on various engine rebuilds and exchanges, but > nothing regarding the possibilty of changing out the notoriously fickle > electronics that manage the boxer engine.
