KYB makes a GR-2, which is cheaper and gives a softer ride, like a stock shock. They're also well-known for their "Gas-A-Just" shock, which is more expensive and has a harsher ride, more suited to off-road than street use. If you buy KYB's for your 2wd Vanagon, buy the GR-2's and you'll be happier.
