Yeah, I don't care what the manufacturer says, I would never leave an unvented heater on in my van, or anywhere else for that matter, no matter what anyone says. I have a Propex and even with that I sleep with a propane detector and CO2 detector in the van.

I go to allot of early spring and fall campouts and 90% the people there have the Mr. Buddy's and when I mention the dangers of sleeping with an unvented heater on in your van I generally get told where to "shove it".

Hey, why not sleep with stove on for heat, save the $40.

For all the money we put in these vans the price of a good vented furnace is nothing. About the same as those cool wheels everybody has, etc.

You mean something like this, which is easily found on the Mr. Heater website?

. Designed and approved for indoor use . Automatic low-oxygen shut off system... FOR RECREATIONAL AND COMMERCIAL USE: . Tents . Cabins ... . Campers . RVs/Mobile Homes/Trailers... The Portable Buddy uses an Oxygen Depletion System (ODS) which is a safety device used to light the heater as well as shut it off if Oxygen levels drop to between 18% and 19%.
