Volks,

Wanted to follow up on the tread on vanagon.com about purchasing a Mr Heater Buddy.

While $39.50 is a great value for this unit please remember to use it properly.

We feel the advertising and manual that accompanies the product is a bit misleading.

IMPORTANT .. This is a "Non-Ventilated" propane heater that should only be used in a "well ventilated" bus while you are awake.

To quote from the Mr Heater Manual;

"This is an unvented gas-fired portable heater. It uses air (oxygen) from the area in which it is used. Adequate combustion and ventilation air must be provided."

"Do not place flammable material on or near the appliance"

Please do not turn this baby on and let it run all night.

While the O2 sensing capability of the Mr Heater is a nice feature it is not foolproof. The only safe propane/gas/diesel heater to use all night or in a non-monitored manner are ventilated systems like the Propex, Eberspacher, Carver and other RV type vented heaters.

Please Be Safe Out There.
