Wife is not fond of the camping thing so I start checking hotels. Hampton Inn, $239.00/night. Days Inn $207.00.night. Quality Inn a whopping $349.00/night. I told the clerk at Quality Inn she must be joking. She said "No, the famous singer Bruce Springsteen is in town".

Here in Vancouver B.C., there was a piece on on the news last night, regarding the 2010 Olympics.

I can't recall the exact figures, but a modest 3* hotel room booked now with discount rate: ~ $70

Same room during 2010 Olympics: ~ $430

Of course, please come and see the events if possible, but please don't try any stealth camping downtown in your Vanagon.

2010 security costs? Estimated at just under a billion dollars.
