Yes I bet he would. :)

Ultimately I need to pare down the onboard tools/parts to a minimum. I'm carrying too much excess weight because of this.

Everyones situation is different, but doing things like carrying 3/8" 6pt sockets and adaptor from 3/8" --> 1/2" (thank you John Muir) would certainly lighten my load. Though I would still carry a few 1/2" sockets.
