> How do you bend the tub to get the proper angle needed on the corners since > the entire piece is on an angle? That's a good question. I was thinking about it on the drive home from work, and I suppose that if the tub is not already flexible enough to deform to fit the angles, one could judiciously apply a propane torch and "encourage" it to do so. I have not yet found such a tub locally, so I haven't tried yet. My "scoop" at present is a length of 2"x2" galvanized roof flashing I found in the garage, with the ends cut and bent to fit the funny angles. As soon as I find something suitable, I will definitely report. This is part of my current "active" project, shoehorning a Mocal 19-row oil cooler into the duct space next to where the AC hoses go up. I suspect even that little 2" scoop I have now is just BLASTING air through there, as I have yet to see my oil temp rise even a hair's breadth above 80degC while the vehicle is moving. I wish I had a wind speed indicator in there to see what kind of air flow I'm getting... -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Lastwagen" '90 Vanagon GL - "Wiesel" |
