If I were to do an engine conversion, I'm on the fence between a
turbodiesel, not a TDI but a 1.9l AAZ which is what I think I'd ideally
like.  But the Bostig kit looks so well done and complete that I am not
sure what to do.  Also once the Bostig is done, Zetecs are so cheap that
you never really need to panic even if somehow you really chew one up.
