As an Apple Authorized Service Provider I have to say it should be easy to repair since there's only one button to sew back on right in the middle of the wheel. However I am I disappointed in Apple for stealing the single wheel concept from the BC comic strip.

I am impressed though by the one fellow who "dialed up" an email in just under 45 minutes. It takes me about 50 minutes on my iPhone. :-)
