I can also vouch for the sturdiness of the Vanagon roof. Having recently cut up a Vanagon using nothing but sawszall blades and a cutoff wheel on a Milwaukee grinder, it was REAL slow goin' through the sections behind the front doors, windshield corners, and that post behind the sliding door. Saving the roof section, so I didn't cut through it and can't comment about that. The Vanagon GL roof appears to be at least 250#, however. Nice to know that won't be coming down on your head in a rollover!
