We’ve been wanting more comfortable seats in the Westy and I’ve read that the EV seat swap into a regular Vanagon is fairly straightforward, requiring only that the EV seat rails be trimmed so they no longer have the / \ turned down part on the edges and therefore match the Vanagon rail profile. I’ve located some EV seats and am prepared to drive to get them and perform this modest modification to make them fit. What I need to know is, do the Westy swivel bases introduce a further complication? I know the Westy seat cushions are thin and that a replacement seat must not have too thick a seat cushion, but I don’t have a regular Vanagon to compare the Westy with to see if the seat rails are substantially different (spacing left-right, profile, configuration, etc). If you’ve done this swap or if you can compare your Westy seat rails to your non-Westy seat rails I’d appreciate the input before I make the trip. Thanks! Stephen
