Miguel, I'm in that thread.  That's what got me going on this, but my question over there remained unanswered about the swivel bases (answered here this morning by Greg).  Based on his response I'm proceeding if I can determine that the EV seat is not too thick.  I measured 4" from the top of the Westy seat rail to the top of the seat cushion in my van (viewed from the back of the passenger seat), so if the EV seat is not more than 1" greater in this measurement I will go ahead with it.  A greater difference than that will result in too high a seating position in the Westy.   Thanks!   Stephen

Stephen, there is plenty on this subject on TheSamba. Go to the Forum section for Vanagons and search for 'Eurovan seats into Vanagon.' Here's one : http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=338291&highlight=eurovan+seats+vanagon

Good luck, Miguel

I know the Westy seat cushions are thin and that a replacement seat must not have too thick a seat cushion, but I don't have a regular Vanagon to compare the Westy with to see if the seat rails are substantially different (spacing left-right, profile, configuration, etc). If you've done this swap or if you can compare your Westy seat rails to your non-Westy seat rails I'd appreciate the input before I make the trip. > > Thanks! > > Stephen
