Ah yes, but we both know that it was a matter of "Convenience" in that Dutiful Passage's voltage regulator was the only problem which we could have corrected with a trip back to the vehicle with a new part. (it was not regulating and boiling the battery acid). That engine was given to a guy I only knew through Vanagon Yahoo (he had thrown a rod and couldn't afford to replace the engine) and he's been using it as a daily driver ever since without any problems.
