Thanks, Daryl! There are 147,000 miles on the engine, so not surprising
there are some ticking time bomb issues. I always knew the day would come
when would we have to pull the engine in JoesVan, but was hoping not this
season. We blew an oil cooler O Ring at Bus BRR two years ago and it was
amazing how trashed it was when we pulled it. Prolly not engineered to last
22 years, huh?
Anyway, will be attempting to fix the Bowden cable (snapped!) or wire the
flap open and install new heater tubes on the '79 in the barn tonight so we
can have some "heat" on the way to Bus BRR. Been putting that off, time to
get it done.
Just by the way, JoesVan has been a champ to drive over the past 6 years,
rarely let us down. Bus Fusion, all those wonderful Buses by the Beach
events, Blissfest, Dunegrass. It's like the beloved family pet is ill and
we will make sacrifices to bring him back.
Thanks to this wonderful list for info and support!
