Subject: 1.9 Plastic Bleeder Valve Part
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1
Help........I noticed a few drips of coolant under my van when I got back
from doing some grocery shopping so I figured I'd pull the engine cover off
and see what was up. I could see that the little hose going to the bleeder
valve was wet so I got out a screw driver and started to tighten it up. It
was then that I realized the hose clamp wasn't loose it was the nipple that
the hose was connected to that was loose, cracked at that point. And of
course after fumbling with it I broke it completely off. I found a large
screw that helped reduce the flow of coolant down a little and drove the 10
miles back home with no trouble. And upon searching the vendors I found out
that the part is no longer available in plastic, but was available in
aluminum for $175-199 plus shipping and tax. Times are tough and I really
don't have the extra $$ for that. So if anyone out there has one of the
original plastic ones that they would be willing to part with for a
reasonable amount of $$ please let me know so I can get back on the road
again.
Thanx,
Paul Rogers
