I bought some of those cheap $30 Italian air horns from the local FLAPS for my LT as my LT uses the same wimpy horn as the Vanagon. They arn't a deep train horn sound but a higher pitched "European" sound which is quite loud and grabs attention of everyone - which I guess is what you are looking for in a horn!
