Well, you've found out the expensive way it's not the switch. I presume you mean "switch in running position, engine off?"

You've got a strong short circuit in the X circuit lead (97.20 track 40, goes to the headlight switch and the load reduction relay coil) or the 15 circuit (track 37 -- skinny wire to panel, fat wire to S12 on the fuse panel and then to ignition coil, ignition module and ECU relay coil. Inside the fuse panel it goes to S11 and then out to the brake warning light. Everything below that level is fused.

X-contact wire is black/yellow, all the rest are black.

Use a stop-light bulb from the 30 terminal to 15 and X -- if X lights up brightest the short is there, otherwise in the 15 circuit.
