Ditto. With a couple of small signal diodes (1N4148 or similar, 50 of them for a couple of bucks at Radio Shack), it can be wired to come on with _either_ the switch or the ignition, so you don't have to manually switch it on after starting the van.

diode switch constant +12 ---->|------/ ---| |---- radio switched lead diode | terminal 15 ----->|-----------|

As long as the diodes are close to the power supply, there's no need for any fuses, a small signal diode will blow before any fuse would.
