Some people have had problems with the new hose seeming to "ooze" a slimy napalm-like goo from under the protective sleeves. You can search the archives here and on Samba to find more info. Supposedly people who use new sleeves instead of re-using the old ones have not had this problem.

It happened to me, I am not sure whether to blame the fuel line or the sleeves, but I had to re-do my lines in less than a month due to the ooze.

If you want to use the original OEM-type crimp clamps on the hoses, they are available at GermanSupply.com. I like the look of them and they are quick to install, but are not re-usable and must be cut off to remove.

Can anyone provide some information on what needs to be done to try and prevent a fire?
