I would suggest hooking up an oil pressure tester and see what it tells you.

If the oil pressure is low at idle, I'll bet something's taking a "hit" inside that engine.

Is the light flickering, or solid on?

It's possible the oil pressure switch is failing. Do you have a known working spare to swap in?
