Hi Walter,

That must be nice.

In my neck of the woods (Toronto, a city of 3 million people) the only Vanagons I see usually belong to members of the local VW scene. There are at total of three Vanagons that I know of being winter-driven in Toronto. I own one, and my Dad owns the other two. And FWIW my work keeps me quite mobile, I range widely (in my Vanagon) covering about 500 miles per week around town, and seeing another Vanagon on my travels is a noteworthy occasion. (Unless of course my travels are taking me to a VW event).

OTOH, what buses remain up here in the frozen tundra have become a pretty tight-knit community of themselves. So much so that some become so desperate that they defy a sensible hibernation, (Or Migration, for those who choose to do it Condelli-style) and go camping in February. This past weekend the VW buses came from both the northern and Southern shores of Lake Ontario to meet west of the lake, at Valens Conservation Area for the annual True Canadian Winter Bus Campout.

We came, we conquered, we had a great time doing it. A more thorough trip report will be written in its own thread.

Greg
