For the head studs you can "double nut them" (that is put two nuts on the stud and tighten them together, then put a wrench on the bottom nut and remove. I sometimes put a lock washer in between the nuts but I'm not sure if that does anything. Also, sometime the use of a propane torche is needed to heat the case around the stud to get it to "break free". I have no experience with the case studs.
