Mike the point I was trying to make is that at least in my rig the radio is wired to an 'always hot' wire. I turn it on or off from the living space with the remote at will, no key needed and no cutout switch because I've not had it pull down the battery. BTW, all my internals, radio included, are running off the aux battery.
