It should be obvious that not all radios are like that, or the message which started this thread wouldn't have been posted. Some will draw significant power anytime the "switched" lead is powered. It's not simply a matter of the radio being "properly wired," as you claimed, since for many that implies being able to turn it on with the ignition off - a non-obvious, non-trivial matter.

I hope that makes it clearer for you, so you're no longer "puzzled by this thread and others like it in the past."
