Hey Guys. I'm working on a friend's '87 westy that had a bad oil breather line (HUGE hole in it) and he said before "It wouldn't idle well so i unplugged something and set it by hand". I have no idea what it is he's refering too as everything was plugged in and it did idle and drive pretty well up untill i put a new breather line on it. Now it stumbles quite a bit at idle and even into the RPM band untill it's warmed up. Once it's warmed up (thermostat open) it will respond well to slow throttle changes, but if you give it a quick "blip" from idle it will caugh out. I am guessing this is a sign of a bad Idle Regulator? The massive vaccuum leak it had before is now gone and some system was in tune with the vaccuum leak (odly enough). What do you guys think? Any opinion is appreciated. -Craig '85GL turned WESTY |
