Putting cars back on the road with primitive fuel delivery systems that produce significantly more pollution than an FI system is a really bad idea. Not only do they produce more pollution, they use more gas. It is better to fix the FI system than to pretend that you can do better with a carb. As Dennis Haynes has explained numerous times, even the relatively primitive Digijet FI system does a really good job when it is working well - all vacuum hoses in good condition, all contact points cleaned, go O2 sensor, tight exhaust system, good catalytic converter, properly working AFM and ECU, etc. He also explains that a small % of cars produce an inordinate % of the air pollution. Why add another vehicle to that group of gross polluters?
