Hi all.

I'm prepping and putting things together on the front end. (suspension/brakes)

Were the front splash plates (guards) painted at the factory?Are they
made of a type of galvinized rust  resistant metal?

I might paint them, but hesitate prepping with a wire wheel. They are
really crudded up with what I assume is part asbestos dust (already
tried degreaser)
