You're kidding, right?! Do you really think that ANY of the tens of thousands of automotive fasteners released annually with a hot wrench are replaced or re-tempered?

What lofty Nirvana do you inhabit where there is no salt-induced corrosion and flat-rate mechanics have time for such foolishness?

That locknut will come through its ordeal in fine working condition as have many of its brethren and sistren.
