Too bad someone couldn't unplug the O2 sensors for him and see if that might not solve the problem. It could be something else though. Have him surf the www.naioc.com site and see if they have any answers. Their message board is pretty good. naioc stands for North American Impreza Onwers Club. Of course I'm assuming he has a laptop with him and access to the internet.
